Pitching: I really, really HATE it!

A friend has just lost a pitch before they've even had a chance to present the work.

The work was due to be presented tomorrow, in person, but they've just received a message that it has already been awarded to another agency.

The pitching game makes my blood boil. It's awful.

No matter how much you think you can win it, there is always an agency with an advantage. If that's not you, there's a very good chance you're going to lose.

That's the harsh reality.

Think very carefully before you enter a pitch and waste a lot of time, money, and energy.

Brands and businesses commissioning pitches need to change. In an industry that's already struggling, this sort of behaviour is not good enough.

Saying "no" to the pitch is an option. It's what we did at Across the Pond where I was MD, and it paved the way for a more sustainable, fulfilling work experience.
